New health magazine for Scotland launched

A new glossy health magazine has been launched by Fife-based NB Media Ltd aimed at all health conscious Scots.

Healthy You is published bi-monthly with a free distribution throughout the health clubs, fitness centres, top hair and beauty salons, complementary therapy clinics, swimming pools and libraries across Central Scotland and is also available on subscription.

With an estimated readership of 40,000,Healthy You is the new magazine format for Scottish Health News which has been published by NB Media since 2003.

Said editor Karen Murray: “Consultation with our readers led us to make the decision to relaunch Scottish Health News as a glossy magazine.Healthy You will retain much of the content of Scottish Health News but encapsulated in a more lively and readable format and with a lighter touch to the editorial.

“The magazine will cover a wide range of health related matters including topics such as exercise, fitness technology, complementary health and diet. Healthy eating advice will be on hand as well as plenty of tips on how to look and feel your best.”

Karen Murray added: “The editorial will include real life stories to inspire readers as well as a round up of all the latest health and beauty news.”

The first issue was officially launched at the Scottish Beauty Show in Edinburgh on 11 May, where it was met with an excellent response. “The new format is great for advertisers and readers alike,” commented Atif Mughal, director of Natural Organics Experience.

New look for Kingdom Magazine

Fife's quality lifestyle magazine, Kingdom, is now in its third year and is growing in stature with each issue.

The success of Scottish Health News has resulted in it being turned from a b-monthly into a monthly publication.

Covering all aspects of health issues in Scotland, Scottish Health News has enjoyed a fantastic reception since it was relaunched by NB Media over two years ago.

15,000 copies are distributed to a variety of outlets throughout central and eastern Scotland, including leisure, health, sport and fitness centres, community centres, health food shops, hospitals, doctors surgeries, and local authorities and major occupational health providers.

The free paper has a whole host of useful and informative sections and features including children's health, men's health, healthy eating and how to keep fit.

NB Media has recently acquired two new Edinburgh-based newspapers: The Edinburgh Times and Scottish Health News.

Branching further into the publishing world, NB Media has acquired both The Edinburgh Times and Scottish Health News, two Edinburgh newspapers, which we have given a new look and believe will be very successful.

A new quarterly colour magazine for Fife has been launched by Dalgety Bay based publishing group NB Media Ltd.

Kingdom Magazine, which is based on the successful county magazine format found throughout most of England, focuses on living in Fife today with a broad spectrum of articles covering themes such as walks, food, people, wildlife, history and fashion. However, the principle emphasis is on things to do in Fife, highlighting events, eating out and places to visit.
